The Corporación Europea de Abogados (CEA) or ‘European Lawyers’ Corporation’ was formed on 6th July 2001 by twenty law firms throughout Spain, in provinces including Castellón, represented by Zanón y Asociados, one of its founding members. Since then the number of members has grown steadily.

The main objective of this “network of law firms” is to offer an improved and more direct service to clients visiting offices that are members of it, in a closer way and in all of the provinces in which the CEA has a member office.
The requirements for joining the network are that there are no other offices that are already members in the same province, that the main partner of the office has at least ten years’ professional experience, that the office has a certain level of prestige and is consolidated as such in the province in question, and that they have a minimum of three practicing lawyers in specialized areas, particularly in commercial law and business consultancy.
The aim is that in the near future the whole country will be covered following the inclusion of new provincial offices, up to the limit established by the association’s statutes of fifty-one offices, one per Spanish province.
In presenting its work, in April 2003 the CEA organized the first International Congress on Advocacy and Justice, held at the Palace of Magdalena in Santander, Spain, with His Majesty King Juan Carlos I as President of Honour. In October 2004, the CEA held its second Congress at the University of Toledo.
